Sister School in Buzhanka
In the fall of 1999, LCA was approached by Oak Haven Church in Ham Lake to adopt a village school ("sister school") from Buzhanka (BOO zshahn ka) in the Ukraine. Our mutual goal was to establish a cultural exchange involving sutdents and teachers. Utlimately, we prayed that the Spirit of God would reap a harvest of new believers, and strengthen the hearts of those who already trusted in Christ Jesus.
LCA staff and students have traveled to Ukraine each year since the summer of 2000. In March of 2009, three teachers and an interpreter traveled from Buzhanka to LCA.
God has allowed us to provide many material resources, from computers to kitchen supplies (List of Projects in Ukraine). However, we have learned that our relationship has grown, not because of gifts, but because of the trusting friendships that have developed over the years.
